"Many beliefs involve blowing on the seed head to tell us something we want to know, and these uses are listed below.

- If you blow hard on a dandelion seed head and all the seeds blow off, a wish will come true.

- If a woman blows hard on a seed head and all the seeds blow off, her lover loves only her. If seeds remain, he is not loyal.

- Blow hard on a seed head and the number of seeds left will tell you how many children you will have.

- Blow on a seed head and the number of seeds left will tell you how many years you have left.

Hi Jeanne,
this is a novel and nice way to present the seedhead of the dandelion.The dandelion lore is something I wasn't aware of and I'm rather skeptical about as I never saw them as anything more than just weeds but attractive weeds just the same.The colour,details and the nearly solid background colour looks very good for this capture and since I do not know what f-stop you chose,I would guess the aperture was wide open given some of the out of focus elements to the shot.Have a happy now new year and keep on photoing those things in the natural world that catch your eye. Very interesting note!

I am not sure if you had used flash for the black BG effect, or is it shot with electric light? Can you explain?

I like the effect of the macro shot, making it looks as if it is a art piece. The focus sharpness and color tone is well done in giving detail to the needle like element.

I hardly see shadow, so the lighting is very even in your setup here. Good work.
