[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was so excited that the moment when I saw this "Clearwing Moth" that i have never seen before, the wing are so clear that can see trough. The metallic color of the body are so attractive. It's look like 6 legs to me and the last two brush-like structures alongside the body, I think is for sexual purposes and this is presumably a male.

Hello Des,
Welcome to TN!
This is a remarkable fine start with this excellent image of what looks like it might be a species of clearwing moth but it may be of its own group and not a Sesiid. It is certainly a first for TN!
You're right: the brush-like structures on the hind legs I think are for sexual purposes and this is presumably a male.
Excellent sharpness, use of flash and green leaf BG in a fine composition.
Thanks and I look forward to more images from you!
Cheers,
Ivan

Hallo Des
What a beautiful insect you share with us as part of introducing yourself to Trek Nature members. The variation of colours is just magic, not forgetting to mention the detail of the wings and the brush-like structures alongside the body. This is a real special and colourful image. This is one of the reasons why I like it so much to be part of Trek Nature because you think you've seen it all and then another beauty (like yours) pops up on the gallery and you stand amazed from the start. Thanks for sharing this delighful view.
Kind regards.
Anna

Hi Des, again,

a beauty, this Clarwing moth! You are an expert macto photographer. You used the flash skillfully. f/6 gave you a good DOF. And thanks for the explanations on the moth; you seem to be quite an entomologist as well as other things.
Best regards
Dietrich
