I paid another visit to the Port of Brisbane yesterday, with fellow T.N member Jplumb for some site seeing.

We were hoping to catch the Brahminy Kite well we caught a few others as well, apart from the two Kite's we saw fishing we also spotted a stunning Osprey which can been seen in the tree(lower left) more detailed shot to follow in coming days.

And we were also lucky enough to see some White-faced Herons, Caspain Terns, and what I think was a beautiful Forest Kingfisher catching crabs in the mangroves.

I have posted a previous picture of a Pelican with all the details so please refer to that for any information.

But for this morning post I thought I would show you the Pelican fly by, not quite the perfect formation but still worth the picture I think.

Deatils; Shot Raw converted to Jpeg reduced in size for up-load and sharpened slightly.

Hi Richard,
Nice to be your neighbour today, my friend.
I do not know how to look at this shot, as one of birds or one of bio-diversity.A divine sky-scape, captured beautifully, showing life.I also feel very calm looking at the colour scheme.
TFS!

Hi Rick

Great composition - I love the arriving formation against the streaks of cirrus cloud - very effective.

Hi Richard
Nice work...I like how the clouds are going in the same directions as the birds...well planned! Looking forward to seeing the Osprey.
Cheers
Sue

Splendido volo di pellicani, eccellenti POV e composizione con questo bellissimo cielo solcato dalla leggere nuvole che accompagnano il volo e in primo piano l'albero con il rapace, ottima nitidezza, fantastici i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hi Rick,

A beautiful scene with these in-flight Pelicans in all different positions. The Osprey on the tree is indeed a bonus. The birds look wonderful against the nice blue sky with the streaky white clouds.

Hello Rick, this is a very nice capture of the Pelicans, along with this Osprey. What will not be obvious here to most observers is the line of trees at the bottom of the shot. You were lined up on that Osprey at 400mm, and with next to no notice, and the pelicans coming over the trees you cut it back to 130mm, re-composed and captured a great scene, with great depth of field to pull in all of the birds (in formation) and those great clouds in a very good blue sky. You were "one with the camera". Very nice shot, and it was a real pleasure to watch you capture it.

Thanks again, John
