Jeanne,

I like this shot a lot. The angle of the flower (thistle) makes it very interesting. The lighting and focus are very good. I have the same camera/lens and I find it hard to get this good of detail and crispness in the over all picture. Good BG and crop.

Beautiful shot of this Scotch Thistle, those colours are stunning, the d.o.f as isolated the subject perfectly, and the detail is excellent. Framing and composition all spot-on;

I notice on your home page you were having problems with sharpness and are now shooting Raw could choice, that’s all I do, I've also adjusted the sharpness in the personal settings in the camera I found they do tend to shoot a little soft, but my doing this it has improved the image quality, also I guess it depends what software your using to, I've stuck with the canon "Digital Photo Professional" for tweaking were necessary then converting to Jpeg and adding the frame in "photo Studio" before posting, apologise I'm blabbering on a bit here, keep up the great work,

Très belle macro finement détaillée et délicatement colorée dans laquelle cet onopordum acanthium est remarqueblement mis en valeur dans une bonne composition.
