Fairy Penguin

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi guys and girls,
here's a Fairy Penguin near it's hidey hole in some thorny bushes just off the beach along the North coast of Tasmania.
These guys are the smallest penguins around... Nocturnal and sensitive to light, so a red light was used to not disturb them too much.. Also, camera flash can blind them permanently so, no flash was used.. hard to get a shot in the windy dark conditions but at least some came out ok.
thanks for looking |

Hi Gethin,
Excellent night shot of this Fairy Penguin; nice low POV, good composition, sharp details, very good result in hard conditions!

Gethin,
I guess Tasmania is so far south so you have all these species from Antarctica. Good shot with light on the body and silencing the background.
TFS and best regards,
