I never tire watching these magnificent birds, this one provided a series of images as it approached, landed and then 'froliced in the water before settling to preen.
The variations in color are interesting but I am unable to tell male from female, insight would be welcome. |

I am a fan of pelican watching as well.
What a fantastic moment you have caught, of this pelican skidding on the water surface upon landing.
Details are amazingly sharp, and the exposure is excellent on that white bird. Wonderful pose of the wings and feet.
You were just at the perfect spot!
