Morwell National Park on the edge of the Strezlecki Ranges survived the recent bushfires. A fortunate wind change during that extreme event early February allows these beautiful unique birds to prosper.
Late in the afternoon (17:24) in dense forest the light is almost gone when this male lyrebird popped up onto a fallen tree and preened for me. The ISO was 3200 and the shutter speed just enough for a clear image of sorts. Lightened via levels and sharpened in photoshop.
For those who may be concerned Tara Bulga National Park also survived. So Myrtle Beech and Sassafrass already hundreds of years old remain, hopefully for the next generation to enjoy. |
