View of a red wattle honeyeater. The birds diet consists mainly of nectar from native trees, however they often seek nectar from flower beds in suburban gardens. The Red Wattle Bird also eats a variety of insects (often caught mid air) and some fruit. It forages mostly in the middle to upper foliage of eucalypt and banksia trees and occasionally it feeds on the ground or in undergrowth.
Habitat: The Red Wattle Bird inhabits Eucalypt forests, open woodlands, suburban parks and gardens in southern Australian mainland states near the coast. It is usually seen in small groups at Bushy Park Wetlands and often in the company of other honeyeaters.
Flight: Swift with rapid wing beats. Shows white tips on wing and tail feathers.
Voice: a raucous "kwok", "chokk" or "chock a lock"

Hello Murray,
Interesting point of view!
Get a good impression of the back feathers, and I like how he tilts the head to follow what the photographer is up to...
Miss a bit more punch so I had a WS play!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Murray!
Your birdy is very precisely photographed and explaned. I like that every feather of this cute honeyeater is so vividly shown.

Hello Murray,
a wonderful shot, but I agree with Pablo this could use a bit more contrast. Once that is correcteed the details pop out so nicely. Very well captured the POV and the composition are very nice.

Hello Murray,

The composition of this picture is good, just a little bit more light and showing the eye of the bird would have been better. TFS

As Pablo says: the original capture is super: excellent pose and composition and I love how he tends to blend with his environment (which makes MY WS a tad more challenging). Pablo's WS does improve on the original by allowing the colours to pop a bit more.
Great colours, lovely comp

And of course these birds like the bottlebrushes too!
I recall trying to photo the elusive characters! They didn't
"hang around"...;)

The red wattle is hard to see here, but the plumage is nice and soft! I hate overly sharpened feathers...

Btw is that one of those fireproof fences in the b/g? Jay

Hi Murray,

A nice image of the red wattle honeyeater waiting on the branch. It is observing his environnement. Your note has good information. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the feathers. Thanks for sharing.
