Very good composition, Murray. The lights and the shade in a half way of the face. Well done!

Hi Murray, if this is a shot where you were practicing your point focus, and you were going for those eyes, then I'd say you've nailed it. I like this one, it seems simple but with that light, exposure must have been a bit of a problem, but it looks good. I like the way you've split this light on the bird, yet pulled in good very detail from both sides. The colour is very good, on those eyes, and the beak. Depth of field is good. You have good clarity on the bird, while muting out the background. The background colour provides very good contrast to the bird. Very well done.
