Hi Peter,

Welcome to TN! This is a very good start to your TN experience. This is an amazing community, full of great talent from all over the world. It presents many opportunities for learning about wildlife and improving your photography skills - no matter what stage of the game you're in.
I can see you had to deal with some harsh lighting in this shot but you've still ended up with very good results. Again, welcome to TN!

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Peter,

Congratulations on your first posting here on T.N, not an easy shot a cockatoo under a canopy and backlight, but you've managed to get some good detail, I really like the light coming though the tail feathers, it's well framed and composed, perhaps a fill flash would have helped a little, but on the whole a excellent first image, really looking forward to seeing more of your work, and it good to see another Queenslander posting, all the best,

Cheers Rick :)
