I was lucky enough to be passing by this tree full of around 100 rainbow bee eaters when in Cairns recently. They are a stunning bird, that tend to favour the warmer climates, so they migrate from South Australia to North Australia / PNG during the winter months. I was in Yorkeys knob at the time of taking this photo, and I think they were nesting on the sides of nearby rivers (in little burrows, they are the cutest).

Hi Janina
What a wonderful sight...100 Rainbow Bee Eaters...that must have been amazing. I like the capture of movement here with the other bird just ignoring it all. TFS
Cheers
Sue
Excellent image, these are showing flight with good movement. Excellent timing, great colouration.h
