Hello Jon,
All the aspects of this image are excllent except sharpness, which as Ralf says, you could easily remedy by using one of the Photoshop programs.
When we were in Oz we saw the Golden and Rufous Whistlers but not this northern species, so thanks for sharing this,

It's me again, the thorn in the shoe!

Not Pachycephala simplex. A tip-off could have been that it is not principally greyish in color. Not Pachycephala of any type.

This is a Myiagra sp. The bird is either a female or an immature (my instinct tells me the latter might be the truth).

Myiagra ruficollis mimikae (Broad-billed Flycatcher).

A note: Can I suggest "The Field Guide to the Birds of Australia", Pizzey & Knight. In my view, the best Australian field guide.

Nice image well composed and framed, good POV and I like the soft background, just wondering if you used a tripod, (or hand held), it does look a tad soft which surprises me with a 1/250 @ f/9.0, apart from that nicely done, all the best Cheers Rick :)

This is a beautiful bird. Nice perched in diagonal position and contrasting well with the green background. Good details throughout the body.
