Hi Jon, this is a lovely colourful photo, I like the composition and DOF, it seems very Australian with the gum blossoms. The workshop version is an improvement, although I thought the original was good too.

Dear Jon,
Even without workshop this image attracts me and i have to say "WoW You got real close to this birdie"...what a rich frame of colours and i am one for well saturated shots....Excvellent eye contact and i can see the little grin on the edges of the beak"..how wonderful it must have been to just look through the lens and see this vision.!!!!
Keep them coming all of 2009 too ...

The diagonal look of the composition and the vibrant colours are wonderful.
Excellent sharpness and detail.
The eye contact is well done.
You must have been excited taking this shot and realized the planets were lining up seeing it through the view finder.
It is a beauty.
