Lovely capture of this beautiful bird...can't wait to see one myself! I really love the beautiful warm colours on this shot. Good sharpness and I like the way the birds feathers are fluffed up a little...kinda quirky!

Hi Jon, for me, this one ranks right up there with some of your better shots. The bird is very nicely posed on that dead branch with what looks like an excellent either early morning, or late afternoon light. It's a warm light, and shows off the colours on this one very nicely. The detail and texture seen on this bird is very good, allowing us to see very good sharp detail on each of the individual feathers. The eye, is perfect, with a great definition seen in the iris and a nice catch light in the pupil. Very nice work.

My original critique must be somewhere in cyberspace! I would love to a bee-eater one day. A magnificent shot with the bird posing beautifully. Colors are outstanding, details are razor sharp. I love the lightly blowing feathers. A superb composition.
