[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was at my friends place in Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia a while back and I captured this image of a Butterfly. I am not at all certain what it is but I thought it was nice anyway. Maybe someone out there may be able to identify it for me.

UPDATE:
John and Rob have identified the Butterfly for me, thank you to them. It is a Cabbage White Butterfly, Pieris rapae.

A very good shot of this slightly ragged Cabbage white butterfly ,Pieris rapae(I think).Very good focus and details.The lighting is well handled.TFS

really nice picture. The contrast background/butterfly is really good, as much for the colors, that for the compoisition!

Good composition and focus on butterfly. I think it may be called a Checkered White butterfly, but not sure.

Hi Debbie, I believe Rob is correct. This is a cabbage butterfly you've bagged. I used to see a lot of these as I was growing up in Canada, but lately not so many. There are a lot here in Australia though. You have a good sharp shot against a great background. These guys are difficult. They don't seem to land as often as you'd like.
