| "Caviare" is my name for this exotic flower, yet another orchid from lake Poorarecup, near Frankland 350km south of Perth. If you are planning to visit Western Australia to see ( photograph ) wildflowers, then make it worthwhile, come for three months, hire a campervan, start around Carnarvon in late July then drift South, ending up in Albany mid October. As the season progresses the flowers bloom inland for several hundred kilometers and southwards for about a thousand! The flowers bloom best where there was a bushfire the previous summer and where it has rained in April of the year you visit. That is an area about the size of England/Scotland combined, You will probably drive over 5000 kms.It is spectacular some years and other years require a bit of asking the locals where to go. |

Hello Peter
What a unique looking Orchid, I've never seen this variety before...it's gorgeous!. It's a little out of focus but the colours and lighting is good. Nicely composed and good colours. Your notes are interesting too.
