[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This cormorant's plumage was in such great condition: pictured along the banks of the Swan River near the city of Perth.
PS: Thanks to my fellow well-informed Trekkies, I now know this is not a cormorant (although related) but a member of the Darter Family!

Hi Jeff,
A very nice shot here. This is not a Cormorant though. It is an Anhinga. The Australian variety is (Anhinga novaehollandiae) A member of the Darter Family.

A nice capture in the full sunlight. He is in full drying mode here. Well composed and framed. Very good colors and detail in the plumage. Nice shot!

Hi Jeff,
Though this is closely related, this is not a cormorant, but a Darter.
Like Cormorants, they can't waterproof their feathers, so they have to dry them out, like you suggest in your caption.
This shot, though a little close-cropped, has good lighting, is sharp and shows an excellent pose with good POV.
Fine capture!
TFS,
Regards, Ivan

Impressive capture of this huge bird in a graceful posture, Jeff.
TFS and take care.

Hi Jeff

A super shot. Love your title. This clearly shows the lovely shape to the plumage and the interesting patterns. Looks like the light was harsh, but you have done a great job. :-)

Hi Jeff, very nice shot of the Darter. This is the closest I've seen yet. You've captured excellent detail of this guy and composed the shot in your crop very well.

Thanks, John
