[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Reputedly the oldest living plant on earth and the creator of the early oxiginated atmosphere, these Stromatelites live in shallow warm coastal water from Mandurah north to Shark Bay. Some of these here are still living ( no pun intended ), being somewhat like Coral in their growth, the base is skeleton and the living plants are on the top. These are situated not far from The Pinnacles and worth seeing.

Hi Peter
I know exactly what Stromatelites are. I find it amazing that some are still alive. We have fossilized Stromatelites here in Alberta. Nicely shown.
