[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is a large white parrot. It has a dark grey-black bill, a distinctive sulphur-yellow crest and a yellow wash on the underside of the wings. Sexes are similar, although the female can be separated at close range by its red-brown eye (darker brown in the male). This is a noisy and conspicuous cockatoo, both at rest and in flight. Young Sulphur-crested Cockatoos resemble the adults.
Similar species

The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is similar in appearance to the three species of corella found in Australia. Corellas are smaller, however, and lack the prominent yellow crest.

Hi Jon,

Nice capture of this Sulphur-crested Cockatoo in flight, not an east shot to pull off but you've handled it well, excellent detail in the wings, well framed,

Alll the best Cheers Rick :)

Jon,

That's a very nice in-flight shot. It's not often that we see parrots in flight so thanks for the treat. I like the position of the wings in this shot. Very nicely done.

Regards,

Martin

Hello Jon, this is a very excellent posting of this flying cockatoo. This kind of shot, with these birds, backlit like this is not easy, yet you've pulled it off with excellent stopped motion on the bird and a perfect exposure and capture of his colour. The positioning of the bird in this crop is very good, and details throughout, in shadow and even in the highlight areas, are sharp and excellent. Very nice work on a most difficult subject.

Thanks, John

Hello John,
Nice in-flight of a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. The sharpness and POV are excellent and the light management against a blue sky very good. I didn't know these guys were yellowish under the wings.
Thanks for sharing this fine image,
Regards, Ivan
