[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo Novaeguineae) is found in many parts of Australia, particularly in wooded country.

The bird is territorial, and small groups often live together, co-operating to raise young.

Nests are usually made in hollow trees, where two to four eggs are incubated.

Laughing Kookaburras eat small reptiles, insects and fish.

This bird was photographed perching in a branch of a tree at Mt Macedon, a forested area about 70km north west of Melbourne.

Wow, this is really beautiful! You captured this little fella perfectly. Colors are great and so is DOF; razorsharp details. It's a great picture. In a perfect world the branches (th one that's casting a shade and the one that's blocking it's tail)wouldn't be there but nothing serious at all. A GREAT picture! TFS!

She is beautiful. You have captured her really well, what an expression! The turquoise in her wing is gorgeous. I personally would have cropped a bit of the left out, but it's great all the same.
Well done.

SUPER !!!!! La netteté, les couleurs, les détails, le BG, l'éclairage, la prise de vue et la pose de l'oiseau. J'uste une petite chose la branche qui passe devant la queue.

FÉLICITATIONS !

Hi Peter
Nice 'n fat 'n fluffy, just the way I prefer my birdies, and this guy is always a pleasure to.
As a small nit, clone out the branch that turns him into a unicorn, it is easy, and the impact of the image will improve dramatically.

Great colors, details and composition, Peter. I like it very much. I give you 9/10 (or 10/10 without the "unicorn" branch) :))

Great shot of a great bird. I just find the BG a bit too dark.
Well done.
TFS.

Happens I was navigating trough your gallery and I want you to know I found some really nice images comming from you, like this one. I love the kookabura and their strange noise, they are the hyenas of the bird world with their strange pitched laughter... Great portrait
