[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have never witnessed a pelican flying with its beak open before.I am surprised the drag did not slow it down.
This was taken in the Jawbone state park near Williamstown. This seems to be an ideal rest preen area for pelicans and a small colony of breeding Australasian Ibis. Even though it is quite close to major residential and commercial infrastructure.

Hahaha... That is great, Lindsay.
I have to say I have never seen a pelican fly with its beak open either. It looks so strange.
A funny and unusual shot very well executed with sharp details and good exposure.

Love the title!! Good one Cookie. It looks top-heavy in flight, I love the pose.
You were lucky to get the bird in flight - it isn't easy, and I congratulate you. But try to 'make' some more sky above it next time.
