Another impression from Seal Bay on Kangaroo Island. On a ranger guided Tour you can walk the beach every 45 minutes and watch a breeding colony of New Zealand Fur Seals. You can come closer to this endangered species than on any other inhabited island in the South Pacific.
Except their smell these animals are extremely peacefull and tolerant. Only the males seriously guard their harems and would attack everyone that comes too close. The picture shows a bunch of females enjoying the warm sand after fishing in the cold sea. |
