To follow on from my Previous Post Whistling Kites this is only my second posting of a bird of prey in full-flight, after countless attempts.

Thank god for digital technology because this would be costing me a fortune in prints or slides, there were several pairs of Kites flying over head each day so the opportunities were there, its was just a question of being able to catch them.

In actual fact when the Pelican feeding was taking place on Kite would fly down and take a fish from the wild life officer who was feeding the Pelicans, once again a great opportunity, just didn’t have the camera with me at the time. :(

Anyway more details on the Whistling Kites can be found on the previous post or from the following Link;

I figured out how exciting must be to shot at one of this birds.
You managed to catch a very good image of this one, in which we can observe the interesting and rich pattern of its feathers.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Hello Richard,
Very good in flight shot of the Whistling Kite.Just look st its wingspan, it 's amazing. Good focus, sharpness and colours. Thanks for the share, Regards,
Smitha.

Hallo Richard
Another technique I would like to accomplish one day in the far far far future. I admire the photographers that are able to take a successful bird in flight photo. This Whistling Kite's wingspan and feathers are so impressive. The detail of the patterns is remarkable and the colour fantastic. This surely is a majestic bird, showing of well against the blue and white background. I agree on what you say about the wonder of digital technology. I would never have started to even try my hand at photography if we had to make use of film and developing photos. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hi Richard

Great POV and action shot. Good detail and exposure too. I find these shots really hard to achieve.

Hello Richard, that's a great inflight shot of that nice Kite! Great details, perfect exposure on difficult conditions and a fine composition. Very well done, thanks!

Mario

That's a great in-flight shot Rick. You captured a great spread of his wings. Very good composition too as you left him somewhere to go. I did a WS to see if I could brighten his underside some. Hope you like it.

Awesome Photo! Perhaps one of the Best Bird Photos I have ever seen! Wonderful color, You have some really nice bird photos. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Josh Lewis.
