hi everyone,
i have somewhat of a series here to show today. Not the best photo's but i'm posting it more because of the scenario.
I was up the coast at Caloundra, taking some pics of some Rainbow Lorikeets in the trees.. there were a lot just sitting in the trees, eating and making a lot of noise when suddenly they all took off together, sounding the alarms.. there was danger in the air..
Next thing i know, a Brahminy Kite soared over the trees that the lorikeets were in, and then took chase!
I'd never seen anything like it before.. it was too far away to be sure if he got one, but it looked like he did.. the chase went on for several minutes.
nature is always suprising me..
thanks for looking |

Interesting and outstanding series of photos well presented! I've seen similar behavior of birds, but never seem to have a camera when it happens. Nice note.

Hi Gethin,
Mate this is a great compilation of shots, showing some impressive inter-action between species. Nicely captured and well framed,
Cheers Rick :)

Hello Gethin. Nice to see you back and posting again. Interesting story with very nice storyboarding for the event. I have never seen anything like this too and thanks a lot for sharing. Very well done and have a wonderful weekend. Best regards. Jusni
Hi Gethin
Your photos tell a great story...well put together. In shot no 2...the brahminy kite was on a mission!
Cheers
Sue
Hello Gethin,
Thanks for your kind critique on my recent Dragonfly picture.
I have had a look at your brief portfolio before coming to your latest picture.
You have posted good photos on varied themes.
Though this one is not nature photography at its best, it presents the theme of Lorikeets being chased by a predator in the form of these five progessive shots.
Well done and all the best.
