[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This ‘Black Currawong was sitting on a car roof in the Cradle Mountain World Heritage car park and allowed me to get within a meter of him to take this shot. Picture is un-cropped.
Black Currawong, is restricted to Tasmania.
Belongs to the “Birds behaving badly group” but also to the top 40 song birds.
The Black Currawong is a large, mostly black bird, with a bright yellow eye. The bill is large and black and the legs are dark grey-black. Both sexes are similar, although the female may sometimes be greyer on the under parts.
The Black Currawong prefers forests and woodlands, and has become well adapted to suburban areas. Throughout its range it is common and familiar.

Hello Helmut
You have captured the detail of the Black Carawong really well - I just love the look he is giving you. He's glaring at you with those bright yellow eyes.
The details of its plumage are very clear. Very good focus too.
Well done
Janice
