Hi friends. Today’s post is a cheeky little Brown Thornbill (Acanthiza pusilla). They are a tiny bird, only 10 cm long, one of the smallest passerines in Australia. They are found in a variety of eucalypt forests and woodlands through south-eastern Australia and are quite common. They especially like dense undergrowth and spend most of their time there, only occasionally climbing up trees if food is scarce. They live in pairs and small family groups.
Like the scrubwren I posted the other day, they can be attracted out of their preferred habitat by making squeaking noises. But they are a very nervous species and I only managed a couple of shots of which this one was the best, frozen as he turned to fly away.

Hello Chris,
You caught another tricky little bird frozen at a good moment to take this Brown Thornbill in a fine pose with good sharpness and lighting to show its features against a contrasting OOF natural BG.
I missed this one, so it's an extra bonus to see - thanks!
Cheers,
Ivan
