King Parrot

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The King Parrot is certainly one of my favourite birds, the colours are just stunning. I shot this at a friend’s place on New Year’s Day, as we were heading off for a walk.
It was about 38deg in the shade pretty warm to say the least and this poor little guy was trying to keep cool as you can see by the way its holding its wings.
I have tweaked this in Digital Photo Professional adjusting the green channel on the RGB levels because the image was a little green as I was shooting straight up into the canopy.
I have posted previous shoots of King Parrots so please refer to those for any details, as always thanks for passing by and taking a look.
Details; Shot Raw and converted to Jpeg, cropped and resized re-sharpened for posting.

Hi Rick,
A real beauty, nice composition and excellent sharpness.

Rick,
There is only one way I can think of how to stay warm on New Year's day ... :)
At any rate, I can tell you were faced with some difficult lighting conditions here - I'd say it is never easy to shoot birds with lots of light behind them. In this case, it looks like the white came out a bit blown out but overall, you've still ended up with a good shot of this parrot. TFS and Best Wishes for 2009!
Best Regards,
Martin
The tree makes a nice frame, detail and colour are very attractive.
