[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another Odonata from my trip to Penrose forest. This one is a Yellow-striped Hunter (Austrogomphus guerini) a species found through eastern Australia. They are similar in appearance to a couple of species including the Jade Hunter however the yellow legs are diagnostic of this species.
This species is found in a range of habitats and is often encountered on forest paths well away from water. They reasonably common and fly between October and March.

Hallo Chris
The contrast of colours in this image is very striking and pleasing to the eye. The yellow tips on the lacey wings are really a turn on and grab your attention. The built of this Yellow striped hunter is quite muscular and very striking. Love the balanced pose you have captured it in. I find the composition very pleasant, and it was a pleasure looking at this beautiful insect. Focus is great and sharpness super. Colours are strong and pleasantly displayed.
Best regards
Anna

Hi Chris

I see dragonfly season is in full-action there :)
This is a superb close-up of this Yellow-striped Hunter - a very bright and eye-catching species in real life, i'm sure :)
Being a part of the "gomphus" d-flies, it really has a lot of similar features to our Gomphids from here, among which being this superb contrast and coloration: yellow and black.
Your side POV shows this pattern well and also allows a great sharpness on the entire length of the d-fly.
F/27 is huge but it came with an impressive DOF that allowed you to almost catch it in full focus on the depth, too :)
Gorgeous job!

Bravo and TFS
