This is just a simple dedication to a fellow Trek Nature member Mehmet who over the last couple of years has produced some amazing images of shells that have inspired me and I’m sure many others.

I wish I could give you some details about this particular shell but I’m afraid I can’t, I will however gladly leave that up to the expert, all I can tell you is that it was a gift from a college who came to visit and stayed a while :)

It stands 265mm x 200mm and my wife and I have had it now for at least twenty or so years.

Many thanks Mehmet.

Hi and Good Morning MF Rick,
What a spectacular sea shell and ist perfectly taken macro capture from a great POV with neat details and excellent DOF and nice black bg which the subject stand out well.
TFS and have a nice Saturday!
Cheers,

Bayram

You have been studying his style eh?? Yours and his remind me of catalogs from great museums of the world. The black velvet works very well..well if not velvet which is terribly expensive, then we'll say backdrop eh? I should imagine you have quite the shell collection down there...this would be a nice ongoing series..

Hello there Richard, please accept my cordial thanks for your wonderful dedication my friend, presently internet is not awailable for me in my summer cottage at Ovacik/Cesme, a friend informed me of your beautiful macro study and kind dedication, so I came to Cesme village to write this note. I will remain in my cottage till the middle of September and work on my present book, so won't be able to visit TN, or post anything in the meantime. Incidentally, that fine specimen you've expertly photographed is a "Horned Helmet Shell" (Cassis cornuta), a beautiful mature specimen. I had posted a much younger version of it in the near past.
Thanks again for the dedication!
Mehmet

great portriat, TFS Ori
