Excellent capture showing very well their defensive behaviour when fighting ;-))
I reckon these may be close relatives of our Common moorhen which are also ferocious fighters. Did you know that these chaps may well fight so hard, that one of them actually breaks a leg? They'll also take on opponents much larger than themselves, as shown in my photo posted last year to TE ;-))

Fantastic capture Chi!! This is an amazing moment. Details are sharp, exposure is spot on and the POV is great. Crop is a little bit too tight on the left top (you cut the wing) but that's just a very minor nit. Well done & TFS!

Great to see this action shot, also seems like a natural composition that fills the whole frame. I like to see the birds engaging in their territorial behaviour, interesting - especially the one on its back that looks ready to kick the others! You must have waited a little while to be rewarded with this shot. Nice job :)

This is an amazing action shot, Chi. I especially like the moorhen lying in the water with its claws up ready for the impending attack. You also captured the water in an excellent freeze frame. Wonderful detail. Well done.

Hi Chi, this is an excellent action shot. It has real drama in it. Despite the action being messy it's made better by the diagonal arrangement of the three Moorhens. It's a great shot all round, my only nit would be that the wing-tip of the LHS bird is outside the frame, that is a minor point on a great shot, well done.

Brilliant photo capturing furious activity. Perfectionists would say you've lost the end of the wing but it is better to capture the moment than waste time fiddling with the zoom!

Kind of situation I'm dreaming of! Great opportunity you've caught very well in the ideal light to get all details, specially difficult on black feathers. Just by chance, they form a diagonal in the frame, adding an easy recognition of the scene for the eye. Very good action shot!

Fantastic image Chi! The diagonal line the heads of the birds are in makes for a perfect composition. The legs out of the water add additional colour to the scene. Great exposure and sharpness to round it off. Great one!
