Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo

| This is a gorgeous Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo. These large cockatoos often come to my backyard. You usually know when the come, as they let out loud skwarking noises. This one looks curious as to what I am doing with a big lens staring him in the face :) |

Great capture of this curious critter, I definitely like his cheeky expression ;-)
Pity you cropped the tip of his crest. The angle of light here was great for giving some details (structure) on his crest, but the hard Aussie sunlight - a recurring problem for me while I was there waay back - has given some burnt out patches on his left side (right in the photo). For white birds in sunlight you always need to stop down on exposure, in this case possibly around -2/3 of a stop or even more, to retain the details in the plumage.
Hello Cluadia, Some excellent points brought out by Bente. The light was not in your favor here. You might have had an easier time of it with the bird in complete shadow, and using a bit of fill. Great profile POV. TFS!

Hi Claudia
Well composed shot apart from the top yellow feather being cut off.
Regards Toni
Hi Claudia,
I like this composition alot. These are great looking birds. You did manage to get alot of detail in a tough lighting situation with bright light and shadow both on your subject.

Hi Claudia
Nice POV. Very good light and the exposure is perfect. Only nit is the top of the crest is missing. Nice work all the same. Thanks.

Hi Claudia. Excellent sharpness for this zoom shot. Excellent clarity and colours. The detail of the feathers is incredible. Murray.
