...I am an Australian Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) :)) but I am hiding my beak, because I'm tired...zzzzzzzzzzz!

"Pelicans breed throughout Australia on lakes and swamps, fresh or briny. They congregate at isles where mature birds - at least four years old - develop red courtship colours on the bill. These colours fade quickly after pairing. The birds use their great bill in display, raising it, swinging and rippling its pouch, and throwing and catching objects. In threat, they thrust it forwards, head down and pouch bulging, snapping it open and shut."

Beautiful and interesting shot that you have well done for this bird with a nice pose ! Congratulation Claudia and thanks for sharing.

" the Life is so rare in the universe and the Nature so precious, take care of them! " Christian...

The idea of showing the pelican in this position, eye wide open, puts a high cute factor on your shot. Very good exposure despite the difficulty of heavy black and white surfaces. Just my two cents: I would have off-centered the subject, reduce the frame size and put more space above. But anyway, I like your photo very much, Claudia :-)

Another nice shot Claudia, I hope that you have another shot of this lovely Pelican from a lower angle, almost ground level:)
