| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| The Freshwater Crocodile also known as Johnston's Crocodile or Freshies are found in the northern regions of Australia. They are found in the states of Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory. Main habitats include freshwater wetlands, billabongs, rivers, and creeks. It competes poorly with Saltwater crocodiles but is saltwater tolerant. As an adult its diet consists of birds, bats, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. Bloody tourists are not on their plan and as far as Windjana Gorge and the Lennard River is concerned no attack has been recorded in the past decade. These crocs are up to 4 meters long and inhabit the river and its sandy banks in large numbers. Exept a information board nothing keeps human visitors from swimming or falling over a crock that takes a sunbath. This is Australia ;-) |
