Little Corella – Cacatua sanguinea

An endemic species and the smallest of the Australian Cockatoos. The short, cap-like crest is usually folded. It has blue-grey bare skin around the eye and a pink stain between the bill and the eye. It is noisy with a high-pitch voice. Often seen in large flocks in trees by water and feeding on ground mostly inland in semi-arid monsoon woodland, scrubland watercourses but increasingly also in urban areas.

This photo was taken in the wild in Lane Cove Park, Sydney, where it was in a group of three.

Hi Ulla,
A very nice shot on this Little Corella. Nice colors and detail. Look like they have a very high cutness factor. Looks great!
