[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Red & Blue Damselfly (Xanthagrion erythroneurum) has a wingspan of only 30mm and capturing this shot took a lot of patience. Although they were quite numerous in the sedgeland around Killalea Lagoon, they did not like being chased by a photographer. I spent about two hours slowly trying to close to these guys and only managed a few shots. Nevertheless, I think you’ll agree it’s a beautiful species and well worth the effort.
This species is distributed across continental Australia, New Caledonia and Fiji.

Hello Chris,
I don't know if I've seen this damselfly before, it's certainly very beautiful, the all red front and legs are fantastic! Pity about the blurr but they're small and hard to focus on with our cameras. Nice composition.
TFS, Ulla

Hi Chris,
Lucky you, summer and dragonfky time is just strating in Australia:-). Very nice capture, with great diagonal lines. The colors and sharpness are wonderful.

Hello there down under!
Your shoot of the Damselfly reminds me to a jet plane on an aircraft carrier, with the wings folded backwards...
Very good composition with all that lines, and what gorgeous color selection made the mother nature with that insect, deep red and that couple of blue strips at the end of the tail.
Thank you very much for that couple of hours spent, and for share the shoot with all of us.
Congratulations,
JM

Hello Chris,
New damselfly to see, very strange red and blue. Lot of patience for 2 hours in chasing this beauty. Nice outcome with very nice composition, exposure, and blurry background. Very well done and TFS.
JC

A good looking species, no doubt, Chris. The upper body is red and the lower one grey with those blue bands at the tail-end.
Well composed image.
Thanks.
Ram

Hi Chris!

Another specie new for me. Good POV and composition. I like colours scheme, especially two blue stripes on tail. Light green BG also looks good.

And once again hello Chris! :)
Anothe species of Odonata and another very nice insect. I especially like the mosaic of colours on its body - a very nice and unusual combination of red, black and blue. Some European damselflies have some red parts of body but usually these are only eyes.
Thanks also for interesting note.
Best greetings,
Radomir
