[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first posting of an amphibian

At up to 140mm, it is one of the largest, if not the largest tree-frogs in the world. Apart from its size it can be distinguished by the distinct white upper lip. The White-lipped Treefrog (Litoria infrafrenata) is nocturnal and it can be heard at night with its loud, rather persistent, ‘worrk’ sounds.

Note that the moist skin collects material after its activity the night before. This has little importance, but as moist skin is vital to the well- being of most amphibians bits of debris are bound to stick to them.

According to ‘The Wildlife of Tropical North Queensland’ (A Queensland museum publication), the White-lipped Treefrog is found in coastal tropical lowlands in N. Queensland and New Guinea. Like other frogs, it is threatened by swamp drainage and other environmental changes caused by man.

I found this individual on the wall of our lodgings at Kingfisher Park on the Atherton Tablelands. The photographer in me wanted to remove it and place it on a tree trunk, but the nature lover in me prevailed and I decided not to disturb it in its day-time rest.

Hello Ivan!
Very impressive species, especially if it is really the biggest one! :) By the way, did you know that the smallest vertebrate species with "4 legs" also belongs to Amphibia? And it is also a frog, this time from Cuba. The biggest adult male collected by scientist was... 8mm long! :)
According to your picture at first I would like to say that this is really great to see so interesting species. Of course it is rather typical (especially in colour) treefrog, but because of its size - very amazing! :)
I like the POV of this photo. On the other hand BG is not natural and probably it would be easy to find "natural" one. Especially if this specimen was disturbed by you :)
Best greetings,
Radomir

Hi Ivan,
Lovely details on this frog. You have got it demonstrating its ability to attach itself to any surface vertically.

G'day Ivan
Nice shot f/stop good and sharp but is it me or is there a little camera shake!
I'm glad you didnt move him, but if you ever do make sure you was your hands without drying as the acidity in your skin will react to the frogs skin and could create an infection on the frog.
TFS Paul

Hello Ivan,
impressing picture that made me look twice to believe it.
Thank you for the way you decided to let that frog rest in its position - a most unique demonstration of obvoiusly very effective sticking cushions on its feet that make it appear to be glued onto the surface!
Thank you! Best regards,
Peter

Hell Ivan,

tree frogs are very common in florida, excllent composed and captured photo excllent detail svery crisp nice shot,

TFS Kyle

Pity for the BG, Ivan!
You couldn't help it, though.
Other than that, the image clearly suggests it is a huge frog.
TFS.

Hello Ivan,
Razor sharp and nice green color. A peaceful atmosphere, good that you this shot while this tree frog in deep sleep. Thanks for sharing this fine picture.

Hi Ivan

I love frogs! This is a great shot. We don't see frogs often in New Zealand and at the moment I am on a hunt to find some to photograph. TFS.

Hello Ivan,
one big compliment for Ivan the nature lover! At first sight I thought the image was rotated 90 degrees clockwise (maybe I still am). Great colours and contrast between white under parts and green upper parts. If it's up to me, you can post more images of amphibians!
Regards, JAcob

Paráda ivan.
Excelent colour presentation. Very well done. tfs. Stev

Hi Ivan, very cool shot of this guy. The detail and colour are great. I think you did best to leave him where he was. Given that your habitation was on the edge of a wilderness, this is now natural to the frog too.

Thanks, John

Hello Ivan,
Nice shot with good detail, color, and exposure. I would've been tempted to rotate 90 degrees for a horizontal presentation, but this works too :)
Just a tiny bit of camera shake is visible, not much though.
TFS.

hi ivan,

For all that the background is not "natural" this capture is too good to pass up! Great colours and details and I am so glad you didn't wake him

Hello Ivan,
This is really an amazing shot. Perfect verticality and it doesn't bother the frog. Very interesting picture , well framed and shown from a very good point of view.
Best regards
Anne

Precioso el colorido de esta rana que contrasta con la pared donde está "descansando".
Magníficos detalles de luz y color.
Saludos amigo, JL.

This is a very curious photo.
the vertical composition gives it a strange prespective.
The specie is very cute an beautiful, and the capture very plesant.
Nice information on the note too, TFS.
