This is an image of a fiddler crab. During low tide, the beach was covered with male fiddler crabs, all waving their single large claws, a feature that distinguishes the males from the females. This large claw is believed to play a role in courtship as well as communication. The fiddler crab is named for the movement of its smaller, secondary claw from the ground to its mouth during feeding, which gives it the appearance of playing the fiddle.

Kompozycja głębia i kolory wszystko na plus

What a great pose you've managed to capture this beautiful crab in Matthew.
Excellent low viewing/shooting angle, sharpness and exposure.
Depth of field also is very good although I've got the feeling that the big scissor is a little out of the focus field, which by the way is'nt a real distraction.
Colors, details and soft background are wonderful.
Very well done. TFS!!!

Hello Matt, I like very much the position you took to get this shot. You are really down at the crab's level here. The detail you have on it is excellent with very good light and colour. Depth of field is excellent giving us good focus for the entire animal. Very nice.
