Hi Maree, welcome to TN.
This is Amanita muscaria, and they are highly hallucinogenic and psychoactive, so DON'T EAT IT!!
Now is the time they appear in NZ, and many grow under the pine trees, like your one is.
You show it well, and next time crop the space on one side so it isn't so centred in the picture.
