Took this photo while we were taking a walk in the park. After downloading, turn the background to black colour and sharpen.

This fern is called "Bird nest fern" also name as Asplenium australasicum.

Family: Aspleniaceae

Distribution: Wet forests and rainforests of south and central coasts of New South Wales and coastal Queensland to Cape York. The species also occurs in Asia.

Common Name: Bird's nest fern

Derivation of Name: Asplenium....from Greek, a, without and spleen, a spleen, referring to medicinal properties affecting the spleen.
australasicum....Australian.

Conservation Status: Not considered to be at risk in the wild.

Great shot Sweety! Simply and beautiful. Excellent composition. I like it very much.

This looks like a very young and tender shoot.We had these on Niue Island.We would wrap food in to cook in the ground in an 'Umu' (like a 'Hangi).
