Hi Janice

What an imposing bird and by its stance & stare it seems like it is ready to defend its lunch "claws & beak" not flinching a single millimetre from the lady with the Canon.

Well taken under rather difficult circumstances in the middle of the day with a snow white bird. The exposure was brilliantly handled and the details are just great.

PS1. Sorry I did not tell you about disappearing to hospital. Initially I was going to keep it hush until such a time when I knew more about my condition, but then at the last moment I slipped in the final paragraph on my last posting. I will send you an e-mail sometime later, about the tests and results. I first just want to prep a posting and get that off my back. Anna is a real slave driver and since I returned yesterday she has been on my back so I think I better get that done before I end up in hospital again, but this time with some grievous bodily harm instead.

PS2. Good luck for the All Black's tomorrow, but I think they will proof to be too strong for "le Français".

Hello Janice,
I like this frontal view of the Pacific Black-backed Gull. Excellent sharpness, lighting and composition.
This shows how well developed binoccular vision is in gulls, if not many other bird species. He's looking straight at us with both eyes!
