I visit in 2005 the Muriwai Gannetcolony. This is the view to the North direction from the lookout point. The waves are at that moment perfect for surfers. See also my other photo's from this lookout point. I hope you like it. Regards Bob

Hi Bob,
Very nice framing, i like the rich colour and detail of the grass in the foreground and the way the curve of the breaking surf leads the eye right back to the horizon. Very nice soft light and colours in the sky and sea, this looks like it could be on the coast of Wales or Cornwall, here in the UK. Also looks like a great break to surf too!
Great shot my friend,
Paul

Hi Bob,
New Zealand proposes such great picture's opportunities! What a wonderful seascape with superb POV, pastel colors and exposure. I like the way the grass is lightened. I wonder what this line right in the grass is… This is a superb scenery that makes me dream going there someday. Thanks,
Claudine

Hello Bob,
An amazing view to the vast ocean, washing the beaches of the North Island!
Good surf and strong foreground interest, and in the back sea and sky seem to melt together...
Nice backlight effect!
Greetings,

Hello Bob,
Thank you for sharing this beautiful view looking toward the north!
good pov with clarity, nice soft-toned colouration and details
good sun direction to give excellent exposure and focus!
well done
cheers
Tony

p/s will post soon karekare which captured on christmas day, see any different since you last visit!

Beautiful vista Bob,
I like the composition, great FG..A surfer's dream photo :)
Very well done,
Howard

What a lovely beach with those long waves rolling in. I wonder if the photo's composition might have bee a bit stronger if you had moved or zoomed forward a bit and lowered your pov. I think if the central spikey plant had been bigger in the frame and intersected with more of the sea and even some of the sky the image would have more unity and impact. The horizon cuts the image directly in half. I think I might have cut out a bit of the sky making a one third-two thirds composition. ...just a personal opinion : )

I'm going here tomorrow Bob (17 May 2008). My son and grandson (only 3 1/2 yrs) are mountain biking in the WoodHill Forest there. It is to the left of this photo. So I'll say hello to Muriwai from you.
This is a great view of the beach showing the sweeping waves. That beach seems to go on for miles northwardsd.
Well captured
Janice
