Brilliant POV and superb lighting in this one. The colors are natural, the BG is perfect and I really like the ant that is on the flower.

Beautiful image Janice, the light here is wonderful and transforms the capture. Excellent color, detail/DOF and the black BG works very well.

Oh, sure... now you are just trying to show me up with your own original cacti images taken from interesting perspectives. LOL!!!

Btw, ants and any number of other insects are attracted to cactus blossoms because they are rich in nutrients. It is almost as if cacti are overreacting to their harsh environment in order to survive. They don't call them succulents for nothing.

Hi Janice,
What a great photo. You managed to make a cactus appear soft while most of the time its looks hard and tough. The backlight is wonderful and brought out the details of the flower most beautifully. I like the inclusion of the ant and the central framing. I might opt for cloning out the purple spot in the center. But that aint allowed on TN.

Very beautiful!
Like a tiny explosion of colour on the cactus surface.
The focus is sharp with lovely detail,the ant is a nice accent.
I like the effect of the lighting here.
Very good contrast and colours.
The POV and DOF is excellent.
