Hello Janice
This is a lovely portrait, with wonderful colours and details displayed with great clarity. It is good to know that you have somebody like Silvia close by where you can take these injured or helpless birds to and you know they will be taken care of. Thanks for sharing your story and of course the beautiful dove.
Best regards
Anna.

Hello Janice,
A superb close-up of a juvenile Feral Pigeon (the tame form of the Rock Dove gone wild). The POV details and sharpness are top class.
You did well to let this youngster be taken care of by Sylvia Durrant and you and injured birds are lucky to have her.
TFS this fine image and note,
Ivan

Oh dear Janice. Does this mean there are not many Kereru left to be found in Auckland ?
OK .... Its quite pretty I suppose, but not a patch on our beautiful native pigeons.
Its about time we saw another Kereru from you isn't it?
Now there's a challenge for you :)
Cheers
Steve

Absolutely great close in shot Janice...sometimes they will let you do that...I have had such luck at times...Very nicely presented..Getting ready for an ocean swim soon as you know it will snow here in a few days.

Hi Janice!
All I can say is - oh my, poor cat :-) Why you're so cruel :-) This dove's destiny was to meet your fantastic cat! And you ruined it... ;-)
You know that I'm not very big fan of pigeons, doves, etc. but this one looks quite tasty :-) Miauuuu! [*]
[*] Polish cats say 'miauuuu!' when meet something like dinner from your photo :-)

Hi Janice
Now I suppose this qualifies you for a nomination of a "GreenPeace award". Especially since the dove is the universal symbol of peace. Good rescue and sorry for you cat.
This is such a lovely image. The sharp details of the bird's facial features and frontal plumage on this "in-your-face close-up" and the soft greenish BG gave the shot a fine quality which is very soothing on the eyes. Lovely colours and excellent composition added to ensure this is a wonderful posting from your lens.
Very well done MF and TFS.

Hi Janice,
Very sharp, colorful close-up of that dove. It was nice of you to take the dove to your local "Bird Lady". The doves where I live are called Mourning Doves. They like to make a mournful cooing sound. They perform cleanup duty under our Goldfinch feeders. TFS.
