First of all THE BEST OF EVERYTHING TO COME IN THE YEAR OF 2009!

I think the lines of the tree branches of the fascinating POHUTUKAWA. Colors are as usual NATURAL. POV, DOF and BG are perfect. And look through the branches to the hills is very relaxing. A perfect compo.

where were you. I miss your great landscape shots. welcome again. I also wish a Happy New Year to you and your family too. I hope 2009 will be better than earlier years.
This is really great post as greeting card. As you know, in Northern Hemisphere, new year is symbolized by winter scene, e.g. snow and pine tree. But I know that it is different in South in mid summer. Thanks for sharing and thanks for your wishes

I love these twisted trees with bright red flowers, they loks gorgeous, they looks somewhat... very ancient - or well, I don't know how to explain it exactly, it's hard to put words on what I'm feeling about them. But the picture, at least, is easy to comment, as it is once a gain a wonderful one from you. All technical aspects are spot on. Very well done !

To me January is just the beginning of another long year. So it is n'ver too late in Jan for
a wish.And i thnak you for your kind wishes.
The composition here is simple and beautiful, reminds me of several trees that hang their
way into water in an island near my home town.The like the little burst of red again on
Pohutukawa and shade and light playing on the tree branches.

That's an amazingly shaped tree. I can't stop looking at all the different curves and twits. The red flowers are really eyecatchers. It would have been nicer if the light wasn't that harsh.
