This is Lake Tarawera in the Bay of Plenty where we spent our Christmas Holidays. The weather prior to Christmas and over the festive season was absolutely horrible. Lots of rain and very high winds, but the sunsets were breathtaking.

Lake Tarawera
This is the view over Lake Tarawera from one of the DOC (Department of Conservation) camping grounds accessed via Kawerau through forestry roads. The weather was due to change dramatically with the onset of heavy rain and gusty high winds.
