[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This scene took my eye as I was photographing White-Fronted Terns recently in Tauranga. "Bing, bong! Air New Zealand wishes to announce the arrival of flight 123 from an outer island". Technically not great, but I love the scene. Thanks for looking.

Cormorants

Cormorants are water-loving birds that choose nesting and roosting habitats safe from ground predators but close to feeding areas. When on the water, they are sometimes mistaken for geese and loons because of their longs necks, head and bill. Cormorants fly in the shape of a “V” just like geese, but often glide while flying which is uncharacteristic of geese. Cormorants are rarely vocal when flying.

Hello Pam!
Wonderful capture.I liked POV,framing,moment you
caught and composition a lot.TFS...:-)

Hi Pam,
I like the perspective here with the pano. crop. You got him in full landing mode, landing gear and flaps down. Excellent timing.

Great capture Pam, and excellently spotted. Love the scene with the group versus approaching individual, each on their own plot of land (or sea, respectively), nicely in juxtaposition. The direction of gaze and lines in the scene makes the two poles communicate and creates a strong tension.
Great visual impact, and straight to my favorites!
Regards,
Gabi

I love it too Pam, very cute photo, I like the rectangular crop very much, it adds to the "runway" effect. I would have been thrilled to capture such a scene myself. Well done, thanks for the smile.

It's an interesting capture and composition Pam. Sometimes we post just because we like it! I like it too mf! Thank You.

I agree with the post - nice to have the "off" shots as well and some of us - me - have more "offs" than "ons", TFS - points later

Thank you Pam.

p.s.: please say Hello to Janice and Dave the next time you see them.

Hi Pam

You're right, it's technically not perfect, but I expect you're like me that you have lots of shots you're proud of that aren't necessarily perfectly done technically. I really like the scene as well. Nice long format crop. Would make a good framed picture.
