| The Waikato River in North Island NZ in mid-winter, taken standing on the bridge over the Huka Falls. The water is channelled through this narrow gap and the result is spectacular. It is also extremely noisy! |

Hello Tricia! Very interesting landscape. Very dramatic scene. Good lightness and sharpness. Nice picture. Welcome to TN! Regards!
Hi Tricia.
Nice shot of the rapids above the Huka Falls.
I should correct you on the name of the river though.
This is the mighty Waikato,New Zealands longest river, being funneled through its narrowest gap just after flowing out of Lake Taupo, its source.
The Waikato flows right through Cambridge and Hamilton.and out to sea at Port Waikato, not far south of the Manukau.
I've been on the river at many points along its course, and I've always wanted to go down the falls in a kayak ... one day maybe :)
Cheers, Steve
Hi Tricia,
I have been to the Huka falls a couple of times, and you really managed to capture the strengh of the river! Well done.
