Shine Falls is a 45 minute hike, which starts at a Department of Conservation (DOC) shack about 90 minutes drive from Napier.

It is a spectacular waterfall and at 58m is the highest in Hawkes Bay.

At the base of the falls is a large clear pool so if you visit in the summer be sure to take your togs.

This spot was visited whilst out geocaching recently in the Napier area.(www.geocaching.com)

Hi Scott,
Nice image. I like the composition and the strong colours. Exposure is good although I'd be inclined to darken the top of the image. Also, looks like you have a little bit of colour fringing (chromatic aberration) in the branches on the top of the image...looks predominantly cyan. You can remove this using Adobe Camera RAW or the lens correction tool in CS2.

You have managed this picture really well, the exposure is superb and the longer exposure length has produced a wonderful soft effect on the water really helping to show the beauty of the area well. That must be some waterfall in full flood.

I really like the composition and you have done well with it here.

great view!i liked the nice colours and the details in your compo. a good POV and lighting.
the misty-silky effect of the flowing water is awesome. some sharpening may be useful to view more details.
