Baby Forest Umbrellas
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I found these beautiful white 'umbrellas' growing in leaf mould in native NZ bush. They have brilliant white domes and were no more than 1cm across.
I rested my camera on the wet ground to take the shot. Thanks to past comments I used f5.6 and a slower shutter speed to get a better DOF.
I liked the way the water formed little drips on the edge of the domes. Hense my title, Forest umbrellas.
I used Paint shop to crop a little of the forground off, resized the original and added a frame. |

Very etheric, ghostly picture Sue! I like this mood. It remainds me my favourite book from childhood Moomintrolls by Tove Jansson and these fungi looks like sea drifters [hatiffnats - I don't know English word for it :-)]. Great work!
How nicely the 2 seconds registered all the details in the frame. The light is bright on the fungi, but gives a nice mood. I would consider to crop the group on the right, as the closest big one OOF spoils a bit the frame in my modest opinion. The opposite, the different one OOF in the BG compliments nicely this beautiful shot. Well done.

Another titles found well. Here, the depth of field is better but the image seems vague a little. I like your composition and your mushrooms are magnificent. The next time will be even better, I am sure there. TFS.
Un autre titre bien trouvé. Ici, la profondeur de champ est meilleur mais l'image semble floue un peu. J'aime votre composition et vos champignons sont magnifiques. La prochaine fois sera encore meilleure, j'en suis certaine.
I love the eerie sheen on the ubrellas. Really ghostly.
The composition, especially how they seem to be climbing up the slope, is very well chosen and the lighting is simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
Smiles
