I found these growing in the grass on the side of the street. I thought it was a nice little family of 5 with a couple of extras hidding in the background.

Sorry it is similar to a earlier posting but this time I used F8 for a bigger DOF, thanks for all the advise fellow Trekies!

Nice shot of these inkcaps Sue.
The close crop gives them more impact.
Nice light on the end ones.
I quite like them when they go black too.

Hi Sue,

Hello Sue!
Funny title and superb capture.Crisp clear details,DOF,framing and composition are great.
Thanks for posting.

Nice shot! You got these at just the right time, beginning to show black at the rim of the caps but mostly still in good shape. You have captured the corrugations on the caps very well. C. micaceus is considered edible by many N.American authors but like other Coprinus species it can have nasty effects if it is consumed along with (before or after!) alcohol. It contains a substance which interferes with the metabolism of alcohol so many of the unpleasant side effects of alcohol are magnified and people can get quite sick! Also, after comparing European and N.American species which have the same name but are often suspiciously different, I'd be wary of accepting any edibility advice from anyone but local collectors.

Great details and DOF Sway! Great exposure - you've shown the creamy color of these caps very well!

This is great Sue! I like the composition a lot and the sharpness and exposure is very good.

Very well done and thanks for posting

Hi Sue,
Wonderful shot with great POV and very good DOF. I like the compo and the texture in the shot with the smooth, yet furrowed surfaces, combined with the debris on the surface of the fungi. Great work. TFS,
John

Hi Sue, very good composition here. I also like the subdued lighting - it suits fungi very well. There is small amount of overexposure on the left hand edges of the fungi on the left but not too bad. I would also try to sharpen a little more, but that's a tough call with fungi, I'd have to have a play around with USM.

Well done.

Excellent composition, POV and DOF. They look like a happy little family. Great light effect.
